Food in Seville was amazingly cheap and incredibly delicious. It can be difficult to choose a restaurant, so here is my guide to help you find the best food in Seville.
Best Places for Tapas
If you want to experience Seville like a local, you definitely need to “tapear” (have some tapas). For that, these 2 places are the best options:
Las Teresas (€) in Barrio Santa Cruz, Calle Santa Teresa 2 – this place opened in 1870. It serves traditional yummy tapas and ridiculously cheap drinks! You can get a beer or a glass of wine for €2! Sevilla, in general, is a pretty cheap place for drinks. You will not want to leave this place!
El Rinconcillo (€) in Barrio de la Macarena, Calle Gerona 40 – This is the oldest bar in town as it opened back in 1670. If you manage to make some space for yourself at the bar counter, this is a great place to try some of the Andalusian cuisine specialties such as “espicanacas con garbanzos” (spinach with chickpeas).
Best Restaurants
If you are more of a hard to please foodie, I have 3 great options for you as well:
La Bartolomea (€€) in the Arenal district, Pastor y Landero 10 – their sister restaurant La Brunilda was full, so the waiter suggested we walked a couple of minutes to get to their other restaurant. The concept of this place is amazing; they serve delicious gastro tapas. The quality of the food and the service were excellent and surprisingly it was also a really cheap treat. The only negative, they don’t take reservations, so I recommend getting there early if you don’t want to queue for a table.
La Bulla (€€) Arenal district, Calle 2 de Mayo – A bit off the beaten path, this place was recommended by our Air B&B host. It was a really great suggestion and another really good value for money restaurant. The menu had plenty of options and everything was quite tempting. The food was really tasty and the service was really easy-going.
La Azotea (€€) Calle Zaragoza 5 – this place is a chain. We have been to the one closer to our Air B&B flat and we really enjoyed our meal. La Azotea offers great traditional Spanish cuisine with a twist and it’s a great choice if you are after some fresh fish and seafood. They have a different special menu every day. The place gets packed at night, so I recommend booking. The price was also fair, given the portions were quite big and filling.
Best for Dessert
More of a sweet tooth? I have got you sorted!
La Campana on Calle Sierpes 1 – This patisserie opened in 1885 and is a great option for breakfast or for a sweet “merienda” (afternoon snack). Good luck deciding what to get though, as everything at the counter looks damn delicious!
Dulcerìa Manu Jara in Triana, Calle Pureza 5 – this patisserie is famous for its puff pastry, apparently the best in Seville. Another great option for sweets lovers!
Average Meal Price per person: € (€10 to €25) – €€ (€25 to €40) – €€€ (over €40)
