If you’ve ever been on holiday in Greece, you most likely came across this delicious and super popular Greek drink, and like me, you came back wondering how to make it back home! Well, the greek frappé recipe is very easy to recreate, you just need the right instant coffee. I use the Nescafe Classic Instant Greek Coffee, which you can buy on Amazon.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup cold water
- ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons milk
RECIPE
- Place the coffee, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cold water in a glass
- Mix with a handheld frother for 15 seconds, until you have a thick foam
- Add ice to fill the cup
- Top if off with cold water and add a splash of milk, if you like.
- Enjoy your frappé!
ORDER YOUR GREEK Frappé like a local
When working in Greece, I liked to learn how to say some basic words and sentences, and ordering a frappé was part of my daily routine. So here is what I have learned.
You can order your frappé with or without sugar: “sketo” (no sugar), “metrio” (1-2 spoons of sugar), or “glyko” (Very sweet!) If you like it with milk, just say “me gala”. Your order should be something like “ena frappé glyko me gala” 🙂
