There is nothing better than spending a lazy day soaking up the sun on a sailing tour! And if you are staying in Kos, I recommend going for a boat cruise to the islands of Kalymnos & Pserimos.
The boat leaves Kos Harbour in the morning. The journey to the first stop, Pserimos, takes approximately 1 hour.
Pserimos
Pserimos is a tiny island with about 60 inhabitants. In Pserimos you will get enough time to enjoy the sun and to swim in the shallow turquoise waters before the boat sails for the next destination, the small island of Plati.
While the crew prepares lunch, you will have time to swim a bit more. Lunch is a traditional Greek lunch and includes souvlaki, a Greek salad, tzatziki, and some fresh fruit. After lunch, the excursion continues towards Kalymnos.
Kalymnos
Kalymnos is a hidden gem in the Aegean and a paradise for rock climbers. It is the fourth largest island in the Dodecanese. And if you want to explore it a bit more, you need to spend a couple of days here.
Booking.comThe boat anchors in Pothia, Kalymnos’s capital city, which is one of the most colourful towns in the Dodecanese. Pothia is famous for its sea sponges production. Here you will visit a sponge factory and learn about the history of sponge diving. Once the visit is over, you will have time for a stroll through the streets of Pothia, before sailing back to Kos town.
I enjoyed the boat cruise to Kalymnos & Pserimos very much! It was a great way to see other islands. And if you like to swim, there’s nothing better than a boat excursion to make the most of your day!
Make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen as it gets very hot in summer. I would also recommend booking your trip to Kalymnos & Pserimos from GetYourGuide. They offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
